West Ham are not interested in selling star man Marko Arnautovic this summer, according to a Sky Sports journalist.

Chief correspondent Kaveh Solkehol reported on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that Manchester United are keen to sign the Austria international after his excellent finish to 2017-18.

But Solkehol explained the Hammers do not want to sell their prize asset and it would take a fee of more than £50million for them to do so.

OPINION

West Ham’s stance on Arnautovic is not quick rock-solid, is it? Hardly in the realms of ‘over our dead bodies’, as demonstrated by the likes of Liverpool and Southampton last summer when they refused to cash in on Philippe Coutinho and Virgil van Dijk. While both clubs eventually cashed in on their then-prize assets, the point is that they wouldn’t budge when mega money was first fluttered in their direction. It appears the Hammers certainly won’t sell their powerhouse forward for anywhere near the £20million rising to £25million they paid for him last summer. But, they will do business if there is the potential of a £30million profit. United know what they need to do if they really want the enigmatic Austrian. Is he worth anywhere near that kind of cash? No, he’s not. Arnautovic has great pace and skill for a man of his height and power, but he blows hot and cold. He is also 29. His record of 33 goals and 33 assists in 156 Premier League matches for West Ham and Stoke is decent, but certainly not £50million decent. United should offer £30million and be done with it.
