West Ham co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan will take 10 days after the season ends to think about David Moyes’ future at the club before making a decision, according to the London Evening Standard.

The newspaper claim that the co-owners are in no hurry to decide the current Hammers manager’s future and will not be rushed into making a decision.

The London Evening Standard report that Sullivan and Gold want the dust to firmly settle on this season before deciding whether Moyes will be at the club beyond this summer.

“We want to take 10 days so, in the cold light of day, we can make a rational decision,” a club source told the London Evening Standard.

It is believed that talks between Sullivan and Moyes will not be easy as the manager wants a substantial investment to be made in the squad during the summer transfer window.

OPINION

This is the smartest decision the West Ham hierarchy have reportedly made in a long time. There is no need for the club to panic and make a decision over keeping Moyes until they weigh up all their options. With two games left of the season to go, the current Hammers boss has plenty of time to convince supporters as well as Sullivan and Gold that he is the right man to be in the dugout at the London Stadium. Moyes is now able to play a team against Everton and Manchester United that don’t have to be wary about being relegated this season, as the Hammers are now mathematically safe. Therefore the experienced manager’s true vision of how he wants to see his side play can hopefully be showcased in the games that remain. Also the final matches should give Moyes an idea of how much he thinks needs spending on transfers in order to get his team up to the standards he wants. Therefore if Sullivan and Gold offer him a deal, the Scottish manager can ensure that he is being handed the right transfer budget to be able to do the job.
