West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady has recommended the club speak to Burnley manager Sean Dyche about succeeding David Moyes at the London Stadium, according to The Times.

The newspaper claim that Brady put forward Dyche, 46, as an alternative to Manuel Pellegrini and Rafa Benitez as the Hammers look to appoint their next boss within the next few days.

The Times report that Brady’s husband, former footballer Paul Peschisolido, works for Dyche’s management agency.

OPINION

It is a surprise that Dyche has not been considered as a serious candidate for the vacant Hammers role, with the Burnley boss impressing so much this season. The 46-year-old has long been touted to take on a job at a bigger club in the near future, and West Ham would be a good opportunity for him. In truth however it is unlikely that Dyche would have wanted to leave Burnley, with the Clarets preparing themselves for a Europa League campaign after finishing a massively impressive seventh this season. Another factor in his hypothetical decision would be the carnage that has taken over at the London Stadium this season, with working under David Gold and David Sullivan most likely unappealing to most managers. Moving on from Dyche, it looks likely now that former Manchester City boss Pellegrini is in pole position to take the role, with reports suggesting the two sides are closing in on a three-year deal. The Chilean would be a brilliant appointment for the Hammers as they look to bring some stability to proceedings at the London Stadium.
