West Ham boss David Moyes is widely known to be keen to improve his midfield options in the summer and he will be encouraged by the latest reports from the continent.

Sports Witness cite reports from Portuguese outlet A Bola that suggest Sporting Lisbon midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia could be on the verge of an exit, after a high-profile clash with the club’s president swept through the squad.

Bruno de Carvalho sensationally suspended 19 players from the first-team squad after their rebellion last week in the wake of the Portuguese side’s first-leg Europa League quarter-final defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Battaglia is one of those players who’s chances of an exit this summer have increased, although it’s stated that West Ham could face competition in the market from La Liga duo Real Betis and Sevilla- adding to the previous reports that claimed clubs in Italy were keen.

On top of that fight, West Ham would also face a struggle to activate the 26-year-old’s €60m release-clause.
