It’s no secret that West Ham boss David Moyes is seeking to improve his midfield options at the club, having failed to land a permanent addition in January and instead settling on the capture of Joao Mario on-loan from Inter Milan.

A host of names were linked with a mid-season switch to the London Stadium, including Anderlecht’s Leander Dendoncker, and the Hammers have received a major boost in their quest to land the Belgian international they still hold interest in.

Sports Witness cite reports from Belgium that indicate new Anderlecht owner Marc Coucke is ready to oversee widespread changes at the club following a disappointing campaign, which will include cashing-in on some players.

The 22-year-old has been longing for a move for the past year, speaking about his frustration regarding a failed switch to the Premier League in January, and Anderlecht are ready to sell to earn a hefty profit- much like they did with Youri Tielemans’ switch to Monaco last summer.

That puts the ball firmly in West Ham’s court as they drive towards a deal but Premier League safety must be secured first.
