West Ham have endured another disappointing campaign, flirting with relegation to the Championship, but Hammers ace Marko Arnautovic is insisting that the club target a meteoric rise in the coming years.

Signed from Stoke City in a club-record deal last summer, Arnautovic has established himself as the leading man at the London Stadium this season with a return of nine goals and four assists.

Whilst West Ham have struggled to secure European football since moving away from Upton Park, Arnautovic has challenged the Hammers to dream of huge nights on the continent- stating that the club should be eyeing Champions League football.

Speaking to The Sunthe Austria international said:

“You can’t get charged by the police for dreaming, it’s not an offence as far as I know. I watch all the top teams in the Champions League, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, fantastic clubs playing massive games and I want some of that. Who wouldn’t?”

“I love the Champions League — just look at the drama of this week. And Leicester reached the quarter-finals, so why shouldn’t we dream too? European nights would be amazing here. We all dream. I have mine, you have yours, the West Ham fans have theirs. Let’s see who makes theirs come true.”

West Ham would face a major challenge in securing a top-four finish in the Premier League but were regularly in the hunt for European football during the final years at Upton Park, although they struggled to get through the qualifying stages of the Europa League.
