West Ham sit six points clear of the relegation zone in the Premier League and have safety within their sights, although they still have work to do to mathematically secure their status in the top-flight next season.

David Moyes is starting to prepare his plans for next season though and has started to eye players on the transfer market, with Sports Witness citing reports from Portugal that state representatives of the Hammers were spotted on Friday.

West Ham, along with fellow Premier League side Watford, are said to have had scouts present in Friday’s clash between SC Braga and Maritimo, although it’s not stated which players in particular were on the club’s agendas.

A host of European sides were also in attendance, with Marseille, Montpellier, Nice, Genoa and PSV also watching as Braga won 2-0, with the star performers being Ricardo Horta and Nikola Vukcevic.

It’s far from the first time that West Ham scouts have been spotted in Portugal, which suggests where the Hammers’ summer business could orientate.
