West Ham are on the verge of securing their Premier League status for another season, with the Hammers sitting six points above the relegation zone with four matches left to play.

David Moyes has a stern task on his hands this summer in rebuilding the east London side though, as they seek to become more competitive next season, and defensive reinforcements are amongst his summer priorities.

According to Claret & HughMoyes is looking to raid West Brom for the services of defensive duo Jonny Evans and Craig Dawson at the end of the season, taking advantage of the Baggies impending relegation from the top-flight.

Northern Ireland international Evans is widely reported to have a bargain release-clause of just £3m if relegation occurs, whilst Dawson could be secured for a fee of just £5m- handing West Ham a huge boost for a bargain price.

With Winston Reid’s future in doubt due to continued injury issues and veteran James Collins looking destined to leave upon the expiration of his contract, West Ham’s need for defensive additions is clear.
