West Ham have plenty of work to do in the summer transfer window as David Moyes seeks to rejuvenate his side and major changes are expected in defence, where there could be a host of departures.

The Hammers have been plagued by injury problems at the back this season and are poised to lose experienced Wales international James Collins at the end of his contract- but he won’t be the only defender leaving on a free transfer.

Football.LondonĀ claim that a decision not to extend the contract of Patrice Evra has also been taken, with the 36-year-old featuring in just 161 minutes since signing for the club on a free in February.

Captured after his contract at Marseille was terminated, Evra has made just three Premier League appearances since his return to English football and the former Manchester United man is set to be deemed surplus to requirements.

Whilst it makes sense given his lack of football, it’s a bold call to be made as the Hammers are seeing full-back Arthur Masuaku attract interest from Tottenham and Chelsea, which could lead to his services being lost this summer.
