West Ham boss David Moyes has made no secret of his desire to improve his midfield options at the London Stadium, having eyed a number of recruits in January but only managing to land Joao Mario on-loan from Inter Milan.

The Hammers will return to the market this summer in a bid to bolster the centre of their midfield and Moyes’ desire to secure players with Premier League experience has raised an interesting opportunity.

According to EXWHUEmployee, West Ham are interested in the services of England international Danny Drinkwater after his frustrating campaign at Chelsea has seen him make just 12 Premier League appearances, shattering his hopes of making the Three Lions’ World Cup squad.

Last appearing for his nation in 2016, Drinkwater moved to Stamford Bridge last September for a reported £35m fee and would have hoped to force his way into Gareth Southgate’s squad. Instead, he’s faced a frustrating battle for first-team football.

Competition with the likes of Cesc Fabregas, N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko has led to reduced opportunities for the former Premier League winner, whilst the signing of Ross Barkley from Everton has presented another challenge.
