West Ham’s upturn in form over recent weeks has seen the Hammers move seven points clear of the relegation zone, putting them within touching distance of retaining their top-flight status in the Premier League.

Whilst not yet mathematically secure, David Moyes’ side are in a decent position to avoid the drop in their Premier League run-in but assistant coach Stuart Pearce has revealed he fears another scrap at the bottom-half of the table next season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Pearce praised the quality of the clubs set to be promoted from the Championship and believes they have the capability to threaten the established Premier League teams next season- including West Ham.

“I would worry that the three teams that come up will have another impact like these three [the teams promoted last season] and put even more pressure on the established teams. I throw West Ham into that, and Watford.”

Last year, Huddersfield, Brighton and Newcastle earned promotion to the top-flight and look set to retain their spot, leading to issues for established Premier League trio West Brom, Stoke City and Southampton- the three clubs currently occupying a spot in the relegation zone.
