West Ham face another major test on Monday evening against fellow strugglers Stoke City but the Hammers will be full of confidence after a superb improvement in form.
David Moyes’ side sit six points above the relegation zone following a victory over Southampton and a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, meaning another win against the Potters would push West Ham on the verge of safety.
The improvement came after a difficult period before the international break, where tempers flared during a 3-0 defeat to Burnley, but the fans have rallied behind the club to help the Hammers push out of their difficult situation.
Ahead of the crunch tie with Stoke, West Ham veteran Pablo Zabaleta discussed the importance of the fans in the build-up to another match at the London Stadium. Speaking to the club’s official website, he said:
“Stoke is going to be another massive game for us, Monday night in front of the home fans They have been massive for us, I hope they can be as good as they were against Southampton. We need to win this game, it’s huge. We need to keep playing this way and keep winning games until the end of the season.”
“For us we have our own ambitions. There are six games to go until the end of the season and so we need to perform well enough to at least get a point in all of those games and see how we can finish this season.”
