West Ham have given themselves breathing space with an upturn in form since March’s international break, remaining unbeaten in the three matches since, but a seven point lead over the relegation zone means they’re still not mathematically safe from the drop.
David Moyes is preparing for a wealth of activity in the summer transfer market though and his priority is signing a new central midfielder, having failed to land a signing permanently in January and instead settling on Joao Mario’s services on-loan from Inter Milan.
One player widely linked with a move to West Ham, and another reunion with Moyes, is Manchester United’s Belgium international Marouane Fellaini- who has worked with the Scottish boss during his time at Old Trafford and previously with Everton.
However, a reported cited by HITC claims that West Ham’s Premier League rivals Leicester City are the favourites to land the 30-year-old, although he could still be tempted by a lucrative move to the Far East or elsewhere away from Europe.
