West Ham face a stern fight for their future in the closing months of the Premier League season, after three consecutive defeats prior to the international break left the Hammers hovering just a single point above the relegation zone.
A crucial final eight matches now lie ahead for the east London side, who are preparing to stick with manager David Moyes for the long haul- although he’s yet to sign an extension on the short-term deal he signed earlier this season.
Fans may be interested to hear that a prime Premier League managerial target could be secured fairly easily, as Chronicle Live state that Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has a release-clause of just £6m in his contract.
Like Moyes, the Spaniard is poised to commence talks regarding a new deal in the coming months but Benitez has become frustrated on Tyneside due to a lack of financial support- and West Ham would be able to offer plenty for the Champions League winning boss.
Having managed the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Napoli, Benitez would provide West Ham with plenty of experienced and he may well be a better option in the long-term than Moyes.
