West Ham face a major restructure this summer and a recruitment drive is set to take place in the first-team, bolstering the squad for what will hopefully be another campaign in the Premier League.
Whilst it’s the first-team that will attract the most attention, changes are also set to take place at youth level and a decision has already been made to release young winger Malyk Hamilton, ending his eight-year association with the clubs.
The Football Association’s website states that Hamilton has had his contract ended by the east London side and the Canadian has since returned to his homeland, signing for MLS giants Toronto FC.
God has a purpose for your pain,
a reason for your struggle, and a gift for your faithfulness… Who God bless, no man curse! Pleased to have signed my 1st professional contract with TFC! #godsplanThe news is not too surprising given that Hamilton revealed he had signed for Toronto on a progressional contract earlier this month and the report from England’s official governing body just confirms the deal.
Representing Canada at U18 level, Hamilton will be hoping to break into the club’s first-team after what has been a disappointing campaign so far for the beaten MLS Cup finalists, who have lost both of their opening matches.
