West Ham face a fierce battle ahead of them in the coming months as they seek to retain their Premier League status and continue the revival they’ve experienced under the guidance of David Moyes.

A stellar 2-0 win over Watford last time out gave the Hammers a four-point advantage over the relegation zone but a testing clash against high-flying Liverpool awaits this weekend- and it’s just one of many challenging games that remain this season.

West Ham are still to travel to Chelsea and Arsenal in the coming months, whilst they also welcome runaway leaders Manchester City to the London Stadium at the back-end of the season.

Moyes’ side will therefore have to be at their best and a decisive boost may be lurking behind the scenes, as The Daily Mirror states West Ham are hoping that Andy Carroll will return to action before the end of the season.

A hairline fracture suffered during January appeared to put Carroll out of action for the remainder of the season but the Hammers are hoping that the 29-year-old will be available for the final two games of the season- where they clash with Leicester City and Everton.

West Ham will hope to have secured their safety before those two clashes but may still require points from their final two games to retain their top-flight status, so a return of Carroll could be key.
