West Ham boss David Moyes has dropped a major hint that he’s planning to remain at the London Stadium for the long-term, in comments made after the weekend’s win over Watford.

Speculation last week suggested that the Scottish manager could move on from east London, with the Hammers looking to make a change, but the club issued a statement denying that is the case- and Moyes has now made his position clear.

Quoted by The Daily MailMoyes has suggested he could be in it for the long haul as he hinted towards a long-term association with the Hammers.

‘We can do things in a slightly different way to how it was done in the past and hopefully it will work. I want the West Ham supporters to think that David Moyes is the right man for the job. I want the West Ham board to think David Moyes is the right man. And I also want to see that West Ham is the right club for David Moyes because I’m ambitious, I want to be challenging against the big boys.’

‘It took me years to build Everton up and in the end I got a job which I thought would make thing easier to win cups and trophies. I’m happy to do that again but I don’t know if I’d get the time to build up West Ham that I got at Everton. You need to have the tools to be instantly successful, so I need to know that when it comes to it we can do a bit of damage here.’

The comments should bring an end to the uncertainty that has hovered around east London this season, although Moyes’ contract does only have a few months left to run.
