West Ham risk losing a key player during the January transfer window, amidst suggestions that a Premier League giant could make a move.

HITC state, citing Bleacher Report as a source, that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have not yet made a move for Manuel Lanzini but sources close to the Argentine ace believe that could change, following the Reds’ sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Klopp has plenty of cash to spend during this month’s window, despite having splashed £75m to bring Virgil Van Dijk to Anfield from Southampton, and Lanzini could emerge as a target if the Reds seek a replacement for their departed Brazilian star.

Lanzini has long been linked with a move to Anfield, as well as being named as a potential target for Tottenham Hotspur, and an approach for the player could be difficult for the South American to turn down as he’d be presented with the opportunity to play Champions League football.

West Ham would surely demand a sizeable fee for the player’s services if he was to leave, particularly if a rival Premier League side made a move, but it seems a transfer would be more likely to occur in the close season.
