West Ham may have hoped to secure an exciting deal in the January transfer window but their reported interest in a Premier League starlet has been immediately rebuffed by a top-flight rival.

The Daily MirrorĀ states that Everton have made it clear they will not be allowing Tom Davies to leave Goodison Park, amidst speculation that David Moyes wants to bring the teenage to East London.

19-year-old Davies has emerged as one of the most exciting talents within the Premier League, making 25 appearances in his breakthrough season last year and already notching up 30 appearances across all competitions this season.

Whilst he’s struggled to impress as much as he did last term, the future looks bright for Davies and it’s no surprise that Everton have made it clear they will not sanction any departure for the teenager- who may have big shoes to fill following the sale of Ross Barkley to Chelsea.

West Ham remain keen on bolstering their midfield options in the January transfer window but it seems they’re finding things fairly difficult, having hit a wall in their approaches for Stoke’s Joe Allen and Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey.
