West Ham boss David Moyes is desperate to improve his ranks this season and the midfield areas of his side have emerged as a priority.

The Hammers have been linked with a number of potential recruits this window and the latest reports suggest that the Scottish boss is confident of landing two priority midfield targets before the window comes to a close.

The Daily Mail states that West Ham will continue in negotiations with Anderlecht in an attempt to sign Leander Dendoncker, who’s understood to want to leave the Belgian side this month, whilst the Hammers are also hopeful of tying up a deal for Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey.

22-year-old Dendoncker, linked with Manchester United in the summer, is keen on linking up with David Moyes in East London and his agent has a good relationship with the former Red Devils boss- which boosts West Ham’s chances of concluding a deal.

However, Anderlecht are demanding a high figure of around £27m for their Belgian international and the versatile midfielder has also been filling-in at centre-back in recent weeks, which could make a transfer more difficult to secure.
