West Ham have been handed a potential blow heading into the final week of the January transfer window, as a big name player is reportedly pushing for an exit.

The Daily Express states that Mexican striker Javier Hernandez has demanded an exit from East London during the mid-season window, after just four months back in the Premier League.

Signed from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, costing £16m, former Manchester United man Hernandez has struggled to find form in his return to English football and has attracted a variety of interest, including that of Turkish outfit Besiktas and MLS newcomers Los Angeles FC.

Speculation on Hernandez’s future has persisted throughout the January window but demands have now been issued that suggest an exit could be on the cards, with his agent Eduardo Hernandez stating:

“There are a number of clubs interested in his services. Our primary focus is a club in which Chicharito can play the most games possible.”

“Javier has asked personally for it. He’s demanded that we look for a club that really needs a player with his characteristics. What he wants is to play.”

The 29-year-old is seeking regular football ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Russia, where his Mexico side face a testing battle after being drawn against Germany, Sweden and South Korea in the group stages.
