West Ham fans have sung the praises of summer signing Marko Arnautovic after he was nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award.

Arnautovic is one of eight nominated for December’s award. Marcos Alonso, Roberto Firmino, Harry Kane, Jesse Lingard, Mo Salah, Riyad Mahrez and Nicholas Otamendi are the remaining seven nominees.

Arnautovic’s inclusion however is a representation of his turn around at the London Stadium after what was a difficult start to the season.

The Austria international, who joined the Hammers as their club record signing from Stoke City in the summer, failed to replicate the form he showed at the bet365 in his early days in Claret and Blue – failing to find the net in over a dozen appearances after his move.

But the £24 million man has been a different figure altogether since the appointment of David Moyes, and has now found the net an impressive five times in his last eight appearances – including hitting a memorable winner in a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at the start of December.

The Claret and Blue army are thrilled Arnautovic has been recognised for his turn-around, and would love to see him scoop the award …
