West Ham United are seeking to bolster their squad in January and have been widely linked with the services of a highly-rated combative midfielder, although recent reports suggest a deal is unlikely.

The Sun, in page 60 of it’s Friday edition, claims that West Ham, along with Everton and Arsenal, are put off by the personal demands of Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi- who is free to leave the Spanish side in January, should his £26m valuation be met.

West Ham are keen in the midfielder but he and his agent are reportedly demanding £2m on top of the £26m that is required to fund a deal- which is a stern demand that the Hammers may be reluctant to match.

However, with West Ham determined to continue their upturn in form and rise up the Premier League further, they may front a deal that eclipses the club-record deal paid for Marko Arnautovic’s services in the recent summer window.
