West Ham boss David Moyes has some big decisions to make in January and one reported deal could be a controversial one that sees one of their brightest talents move away from East London.

The Sun states that the Hammers are prepared to approve a permanent exit for young defender Reece Oxford in January, with the Englishman currently on-loan with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.

18-year-old Oxford has struggled on the continent though, playing just one minute of league football but Gladbach are keen to make a deal permanent- and Moyes is happy to approve a cut-price exit of just £6m for the teenager.

Oxford caught the eye on the opening day of the Premier League season a few years ago, starring in a superb victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. However, his game time has been reduced significantly and a decision to loan him out this summer was controversial.

Moyes is keen to bolster his defensive ranks and clearly doesn’t feel the young defender is suitable, so he could become the latest young British talent to make an impression in Germany- after Jadon Sancho left Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in the summer and Oliver Burke spent time with RB Leipzig last year.
