West Ham are seeking to bolster their forward line in the January transfer window and have reportedly been offered the chance to secure an intriguing deal from a Premier League rival.

The Daily MailĀ reports that the Hammers have been offered the services of Newcastle United forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, who remains out of favour on Tyneside and is seeking an increase in opportunities as he battles for a spot in Serbia’s World Cup squad.

Finding himself behind Dwight Gayle and Joselu in the club’s pecking order, Mitrovic has failed to earn a single Premier League start this season and has found the back of the net just once- clearly not being fancied by Rafael Benitez.

With Newcastle also seeking to improve their attacking options in the New Year, Mitrovic seems surplus to requirements and West Ham could hand him the opportunity- although it’s difficult to predict he’d be guaranteed starts in East London.

West Ham currently have the likes of Javier Hernandez, Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew in their ranks, although there is plenty of speculation that the latter trio will leave.
