West Ham are facing a crucial period ahead as they battle to stay above the relegation zone, after rising out of the drop zone following a rise of three Premier League games unbeaten.

David Moyes’ tenure has led to resurgence in East London, with the Hammers beating Chelsea and Stoke City either side of holding top-four chasing Arsenal to a goalless draw at the London Stadium.

Stern tests still lie ahead and the January transfer window will be significant, as Moyes looks to rejuvenate his squad with both incoming and outgoing movement, although it seems they’ve hit a snag in one of the latter deals.

The Daily Mail states that negotiations between West Ham and Cardiff City have hit a stalemate in their discussions for experienced striker Diafra Sakho, with the Hammers’ asking price of £15m being too large for the Welsh side.

Sakho is keen to leave in January and Cardiff are looking at a deal that’s initially on-loan, with a permanent deal should the Bluebirds secure promotion back to the Premier League. However, they cannot afford the terms that West Ham have presented.
