West Ham are still looking for their first win under the guidance of David Moyes but the Hammers can take positives from their performance in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.
The Scottish manager saw his side take the lead before the Premier League leaders turned the tide of the game around in the second-half, equalling a league record of 13 consecutive victories.
Defensive frailties have certainly been the downfall of the East London giants this season and Moyes is keen to bolster his ranks in January, with The Mail reporting he’s targeting Augsburg centre-back Daniel Opare.
The 27-year-old is set to be available for around £3m in January, with the Bundesliga side ready to accept a sale rather than losing his services on a free transfer next summer- as the defender has been reluctant to agree fresh terms.
However, West Ham face rival interest in the battle for Opare’s services as fellow Premier League strugglers Everton and Swansea City are also being attributed with an interest in the full-back.
