West Ham are struggling near the foot of the Premier League but they have additional matches to find form via the cup tournaments in the weeks ahead, starting in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
The Hammers will play Arsenal in that clash, which will certainly be a difficult encounter, but will fancy their chances in the FA Cup after being handed a third-round tie with Shrewsbury Town.
David Moyes and Joe Hart have previous with Shrewsbury, with the latter starting his career with the club, and it’s set to be a reunion for the pair, though they’ll hope to win on their return to their previous sides.
Social media was quick to pounce upon this aspect of the tie and West Ham fans will be hoping Moyes’ doesn’t encounter the previous problems he has faced when coming up against Shrewsbury, who knocked his Everton side out of the cup in 2003.
@Mr_WestHam16 @shrewsweb Hart to be in goal against Shrewsbury where he started is career. Poetic isn't it!
