West Ham are set to face competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan for the signature of forward Simeone Verdi, reports TalkSPORT.
The Hammers were heavily linked with a move for the Bologna star during the summer and after a good start to the season in the Italian top flight, they now face competition for his services.
Having scored four goals in 14 appearances so far this term, Inter Milan are now monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation ahead of a potential January swoop.
Inter are second in the Serie A table, however remain in touching distance of leaders Napoli, trailing by just two points.
Manager Luciano Spalletti is keen to invest in new talent after the New Year in order to help bring home Inter’s first Serie A title since 2010.
Verdi, formerly of Torino and a product of the youth academy of rivals AC Milan, has been capped twice by his country.
