West Ham face a huge battle in the weeks ahead as they look to retain their position above the Premier League’s relegation side and bolster their ranks in January.

The Hammers have enjoyed an upturn in form in recent weeks, securing back-to-back clean sheets in vict0ries over Chelsea and Stoke City as well as a goalless draw with Arsenal, but need reinforcements.

David Moyes is widely reported to be seeking to improve the attacking options at his club and wants to improve his striking ranks in the New Year- and recent comments seem to have handed them a huge boost on the market.

The agent of Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, Michael Manuello, has told Foot Mercato that his client would listen to offers in January should approaches be made- as he seeks to improve his first-team opportunities ahead of the World Cup.

“Now, depending on the offers, we will sit around a table and talk. The most important thing is to know what will be offered or not this winter, to find a better project.”

“There will be approaches. All clubs looking for an attacker are likely to come. We must be careful and if there is something obvious that will appear, we will try to convince Arsene [Wenger] to return to what has been said.”

Giroud, widely experienced, would be a tremendous asset for West Ham but that’s the case for a number of sides seeking additions in January.
