West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna sent a bizarre message to famous Hammers supporter James Corden following the weekend’s defeat to Manchester City.
Corden, who is one of West Ham’s most renowned supporters, was reacting to the game with a number of tweets in which he expressed is delight, shock and eventual disappointment in emoji form.
Ogbonna however gave Corden a pick-me-up reply, insisting the American chat show host not to lose faith despite recent poor results.
Don't lose your hope @JKCorden. We have shown we can can play head-to-head vs the first one in the league. We will go up through the standings. If you come back in town for the holidays, come see us at the Stadium. We Irons stick together through good times and bad times. #COYI pic.twitter.com/189BImR0Cl

The Italian had opened the scoring at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, however David Moyes’ side were pegged back by the Citizens.
A Nicolas Otamendi goal levelled the scoring before a late Raheem Sterling strike sent the Hammers packing empty handed.
Following his tweet, West Ham fans have shard their appreciation for the gesture, as well as congratulate the defender on his performance …
I find this truly #inspirational @OgbonnaOfficial please stay & show this #leadership quality on the pitch, young #declanrice build on thi & #WestHam will need this #boom #coyi
