West Ham United are set to make a shock January move for Bournemouth’s Harry Arter, reports Sports Illustrated.
Arter has been with the Cherries since 2010, and has been a key member of Eddie Howe’s squad as he travelled from League One to the Premier League with his current side.
During his spell down south, the Republic of Ireland international has made 244 appearances and found the net 28 times.
The 27-year-old however has fallen out of favour with manager Howe this season, and has been limited to only 11 starts all season – none which have come in recent weeks.
Manager David Moyes – who has enjoyed a fine start to life at the London Stadium since his appointment early last month – is thought to want to bring in proven Premier League experience to the London Stadium after the New Year, and could turn to Arter to bolster his options in the middle of the park.
Should West Ham want to prize the midfielder away from Dean Court, he is likely to set them back around £15 million.
The Hammers fans aren’t too happy however, and feel they should have their sights set a little higher than the Bournemouth man …
Harry arter ? Really? We need better quality than that to progress! No better than noble

What might be wrong with modern football???
''West Ham manager David Moyes is ready to make a £15m bid for 27-year-old Bournemouth and Republic of Ireland midfielder Harry Arter. (Sun on Sunday)''#excuseme?

If I was Moyes, I would look at Fellini on a free – save the money that would have been used on Harry Arter and out a decent bid in for Carvalho. Carvalho is the type of midfielder who will improve us ten fold; Harry Arter isn't. Fellani be a great addition to the squad on a free

Harry Arter be a good addition, however, be hard to see him as anything other than a squad player. Focus on Carvalho and fit him into the team and our midfield will look extremely strong.
