West Ham United are set to off-load defender Reece Oxford to Borussia Monchengladbach in a cut-price deal this January, reports The Sun.

The young Englishman joined the Bundesliga outfit on a season-long loan deal during the summer, and has since made only one competitive appearance for his new side – a short cameo back in October.

His lack of game time had lead to rumours he could return to the London Stadium after the New Year, however after ‘Gladbach revealed they are happy with Oxford’s progress, it could be he instead makes the switch to Germany permanent.

Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl has been more than happy with stylish defender since his arrival last summer.

He told Rheinische Post: “He’s a top lad, he’s come on well and we’re very happy with him.

The Hammers are thought to be willing to part ways with Oxford for a price of around £6 million as they look to summon funds for their own January transfer business.
