West Ham have joined the race to sign West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans, reports The Mirror.

Evans, who joined the Baggies from Manchester United back in the summer of 2015, has become hot property over the last year after his solid performances at the back for Alan Pardew’s side.

The Northern Ireland international was reportedly close to joining Manchester City in the summer, however no deal materialised.

He now however could be set to leave the Hawthorns after the New Year with a number of Premier League clubs interested in prizing him away from the Midlands.

Manchester City remain interested in Evans, while Everton and West Ham have now too stated their interested in the veteran star.

West Ham boss David Moyes is extremely interested in Evans, believing the Irishman would add leadership to their leaky defence.

Interested parties will have to pay as much as £20 million for the defender if they are to lure him away from West Brom in January.
