West Ham United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Arsenal star Olivier Giroud after the player’s agent revealed he would be ‘open to leaving’ the Emirates in January.

The Frenchman has found game time extremely difficult to come by this season in North London, starting only one Premier League game this the beginning of the campaign.

Despite his lack of playing time however, Giroud is still the club’s second top scorer having found the net seven times – one less than record signing and fellow countryman Alexandre Lacazette.

It appears not being handed regular first team football may now have gotten the better of Giroud, who i reportedly open to leaving the Emirates in search of it after the New Year.

“It can make things complicated,” said the striker’s agent Michael Manuello when commenting on Giroud’s future in Foot Mercato. “But conflict, that kind of thing, is not in Olivier’s nature, nor in mine. We always work in harmony. It is normal for Arsene to take this position publicly and we do not have to comment on it.

“Now, depending on the offers which are made, we will sit around a table and talk. The most important thing is to know what is going to be offered or not this winter to find a better game project. Now, again, this project has to present itself.”
