West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini became only the second player in Premier League history to receive retrospective punishment for simulation earlier this week.
The Argentine is adjudged to have gone down without contact to earn a penalty during the Hammers 3-0 win over Stoke City at the weekend, and has subsequently been given a two game ban for his efforts.
His punishment comes only a week after Everton star Oumar Niasse made history by being the first ever player to be punished in such a manner by the FA for diving.
While most would agree Lanzini’s punishment is just, the West Ham fans (and perhaps David Moyes) have been left frustrated after a number of players have since gone unpunished for similar incidents.
Leicester City’s Demarai Gray was fortunate to earn himself a penalty against Manchester City earlier in the week during the pair’s Carabao Cup clash.
City’s Kyle Walker was also booked for a similar incident earlier in the game.
West Ham fans have called for the FA to punish Gray after Lanzini’s ban …
@FA Look at the state of that. If Lanzini is getting banned, then I expect consistency in your decision making. pic.twitter.com/9VmQiA7TkH

Apparently you need all three of the panel to agree it was Deception, and on this occasion 'only' two thought it was simulation.
You couldn't make it up…
