West Ham manager David Moyes has said he believes his side ‘deserved more’ against Manchester City at the weekend after leaving the North pointless.

The Hammers took the lead through Angelo Ogbonna at the Etihad only to be clawed back by Pep Guardiola’s side, with a late David Silva strike sealing all three points for the home side and in turn making it a record equalling 13 wins on the bounce for City.

After what was a solid performance from Moyes side however, the Scot says he feels hard done by not to have gotten anything from what was a close game.

“I think the performance was very good,” Moyes said speaking on whufc.com.  “I think, if we had come away with something today, nobody would have been surprised by it. I felt, on another day, it might have just gone our way.

“It was a really good effort. Some of the games we’ve had this season, I don’t think we’ve been as good as that. We defended much better today and we’re going to have to defend better throughout the season.

“I thought we deserved to equalise. You can’t argue, what City’s pressure was. You get results in football in different ways, and it looked as though we may have got one in a different way today.”
