West Ham manager David Moyes has been given a huge boost ahead of his side’s clash with Chelsea this weekend with the news that Javier Hernandez will be fit.

The Mexican, who missed most of last month’s action through injury, is now back to nearing full fitness and is expected to be named in the squad for the London derby on Saturday – though he is unlikely to start.

Hernandez has been a missed figure in the Hammers front-line throughout his absence, with Moyes’ side struggling to find goals.

The Scot will welcome the return of the former Manchester United man, who he hopes can help earn him his first win as West Ham manager at the weekend.

Moyes has drawn one and lost one of his two games at the helm of the club so far after being appointed as the successor to Slaven Bilic, and his side still fit 19th in the Premier League, only one point above bottom side Swansea City.

Hernandez has scored 4 goals this season after moving to the London Stadium in a £16 million switch from Bayer Leverkusen.
