Former West Ham United midfielder Alex Song is set to leave current side Rubin Kazan over unpaid wages, reports The Telegraph.

Kazan players have reportedly not been paid for four months amidst severe cashflow problems for the Russian side, who now owe as much as £10 million in unpaid wages to it’s players.

The Cameroon international is one of a number of stars are now threatening to walk for nothing this January, with former Sunderland star Yann M’Vila also set to exit the club.

Rubin are owned by the Tatar-American Investments and Finance company, TAIF. Club president Radik Shaimiev is listed as the 88th richest man in Russia.

Despite their apparent wealth however, players have been told only last week there is no money to pay their wages.

Song, formerly of the Hammers, as well as Arsenal and Barcelona, is wanted by a number of clubs across Europe and England according to Sky Sports.
