West Ham defender Pablo Zabaleta has praised his sides spirit during their performances over the past two weeks, and believes if they show the same fight on Wednesday night, they can cause another upset over Arsenal.

The Hammers welcome Arsene Wenger’s side to the London Stadium on Wednesday evening looking to build-on back-to-back impressive performances.

David Moyes’ side first put on a spirited display in a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City two weekends ago, before coming out surprise victors over London rivals Chelsea on Saturday thanks to a solitary Marko Arnautovic goal.

Zabaleta, who starred in both games, says continue in that vein, and West Ham can cause another upset in mid-week.

“We didn’t start the season the way we expected but we showed in the last two games that with that spirit and commitment and discipline, we are a good team,” the Argentina international told the club’s website.

“You need to show that for 90 minutes. We should have more points so we need to learn from our mistakes and keep moving forward.

“Hopefully we can put another good performance in against Arsenal on Wednesday night. I’m sure the supporters will be behind us. It’s time to stick together and be positive.”
