West Ham United’s search for January additions has seen them target a former Premier League player with international experience.
The Daily Mail states the Hammers are interested in the services of Paris Saint-Germain’s Hatem Ben Arfa, though they face competition for the veteran’s signature from fellow Premier League side Leicester City.
Ben Arfa, formerly of Newcastle United, found his feet back in France with OGC Nice and earned himself a move to the Ligue 1 giants, though the 30-year-old has recently been in a dispute and will be allowed to leave.
West Ham could seal a deal either on-loan or as a free transfer, as they seek an upgrade to their attacking ranks. However, Leicester’s interest in the French forward could make things difficult for David Moyes’ side.
The Foxes are keen to offload Algerian forward Islam Slimani in the New Year and see Ben Arfa as the ideal replacement within the squad.
