West Ham are facing a fight to avoid relegation this season and it seems that their battles on the field are set to be transferred on the January market.

Italian outlet TuttoSport states West Ham and Everton are fighting for the signature of former Watford striker Odion Ighalo, who has excelled with Chinese side Changchun Yatai since leaving England last year.

Since moving to the Far East, Ighalo has netted 15 goals in 27 matches and has rekindled the sort of form he should during his debut Premier League season with the Hornets, where he enjoyed a fine run of form that included 15 goals in 37 games.

Both Everton and West Ham have struggled in front of goal this season but are not alone in their interested in the 28-year-old striker, as it’s stated that Southampton and Stoke City have also expressed an interest in the Nigerian striker.

However, his poor form in England last season suggests he’s not a player that can be relied upon but he may provide competition for Javier Hernandez.
