West Ham loanee Reece Oxford finally made his debut for Borussia Monchegladbach at the weekend.
Some reports from Germany had suggested that the 18 year old would start the 3-1 win over Hoffenheim on Saturday after having missed out on the squad for the German Cup tie against Fortuna Dusseldorf in mid week.
The previous week Gladbach had shipped five goals against Bayer Leverkusen and major changes were expected in defence. However, manage Dieter Hecking opted against starting Oxford and he returned the England Under 20 international to the bench where he has been all season up until this point.
Oxford was however given a short run out, coming on with just one minute of normal time left for his debut. It is at least some progress for the centre back but the reaction on Twitter from West Ham fans was not particularly positive with many questioning why the defender was sent out on loan with so little game time being afforded to the player so far.
Reece Oxford left West Ham on loan and ends up with less playing time.

He came on in the 89th minute, we should bring him back and alternate between him and Rice in the centre of a back 3

What is the point of this loan? He could be on the bench here. WHU totally unfathomable as usual!
