West Ham are on the verge of change following the sacking of Slaven Bilic this morning but the Hammers already seem to have encountered problems in their search for an ideal replacement.

Bilic’s side lost 4-1 to Liverpool on Saturday and slipped into the Premier League’s relegation zone after Everton’s dramatic turnaround against Watford, increasing the pressure ahead of a crucial sequence of fixtures against Watford, Leicester City and Everton.

The Hammers board aim to have a replacement come in swiftly, allowing work on improvements to begin immediately, and David Moyes currently stands as the favourite to get the job. However, it appears he wasn’t the first name on the short-list.

A report fromĀ The Daily MirrorĀ states three top-class managers have already turned down the chance to move to the club, stating Watford boss Marco Silva and former Manchester City bosses Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini both rejected the club’s advances.

Silva has achieved a superb season so far with the Hornets, sitting ninth in the standings and four points off the European spots, whilst Mancini has had stints with Galatasaray, Inter Milan and Zenit St. Petersburg since leaving the Premier League- still with the latter.

Pellegrini is now in China with Hebei China Fortune but also rejected the advances, with all three managers not willing to break their contracts midway through the season.

That paves the way for Moyes to steady the ship until the end of the season, where the Hammers may look to get a manager in for the long-term.
