West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang says he and his team-mates must be given ‘time to adjust’ under new manager David Moyes.

Moyes was appointed earlier in the month following the sacking of Slaven Bilic, and has had a difficult start to life at the London Stadium.

After a barrage of criticism from the West Ham fans and critics following his appointment, the Scotsman got off to the worst possible start with his new club, losing 2-0 to Watford at Vicarage Road on his debut game in charge.

Obiang, who played the full 90 in the defeat to Marco Silva’s side, insists things will get better however both the players and the manager need the fans to be patient.

“We need time to understand better what he [Moyes] wants and we have to work a little bit more to be fit to do the things he wants.” said Obiang.

“I’m agreeing with him because he is angry we lost the game. He thinks we can do something better and we have to do more.”

West Ham and Moyes next face Leicester this weekend in what will prove to be a tough challenge, with the Foxes having lost only one of their last six fixtures in the Premier League.
