Andy Carroll has been revealed as one of the worst value for money strikers in the Premier League in a new report produced by The Sun.

The paper put together a goals:weekly wage ratio chart, accounting for 20 of the top flight’s biggest earners.

No surprise that the likes of Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Sergio Aguero represent the best value for money when it comes to finding the net, however West Ham striker Andy Carroll’s calculated worth should be more than just a cause for concern.

Earning an estimated £90,000 a week, Carroll is yet to find the net this season, meaning he has earned a huge total of near £1 million in wages without registering a single strike, making him one of the league’s least value for money forwards.

The only striker who is below Carroll in the list is Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke, who to is yet to find the net, and earning a massive £120,000 per week, values at approximately £1.32 million per goal.

Unlike Benteke however, Carroll has failed to ever reach double figures in a season with West Ham (and his former club Liverpool), while the Belgian has done so for past five years running with Aston Villa, Liverpool and now Palace.
