Celtic have revealed they refused ‘concrete offers’ from a number of Premier League clubs including West Ham for star striker Moussa Dembele during the summer.

French media outlet L’Equipe report that the SPL champions turned down offers from the Hammers, Everton and Swansea in August in order to hang on their prized asset ahead of the new season.

Dembele, who joined Celtic from Fulham in the summer of 2016, attracted attention from all around Europe following his terrific debut season with Brendan Rodger’s side in which he found the net 32 times in all competitions.

The Frenchman’s good form has carried on into the new season, with the 21-year-old finding the net 6 times in 12 appearances so far, form that warranted him his first ever call-up to the France senior national team.

Interest in the youngster is set to peak yet again after the New Year with a host of Europe’s elite thought to be interested, however Celtic will remain keen to hold on to Dembele until at least the end of the season.
