West Ham manager David Moyes has said that Marko Arnautovic must be a ‘team player’ if he is to succeed at the London Stadium.

The Austria international has come under heavy criticism for what has been a poor start to the season both personally and for the club.

Arnautovic has failed to find the net since his £24 million club record move from Stoke City in the summer, and was branded as ‘thinking he is Cristiano Ronaldo’ by Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.

Moyes now has challenged the winger to go on and prove his doubters wrong, but insists he must improve in order to do so.

“I can’t comment on the earlier games.” said Moyes in The Sun.

“I can only go on what people have told me and they didn’t think he has come up to the standard he set at Stoke City. I watched him a lot at Stoke.

“I thought he looked like the sort of player you would never be keen to play against, if you’re a right full-back because of his power and strength and what he can do.

“But he also has to be a team player.

“The clips I have seen at times, he has not looked a team player. He would not be the only one I would say that about.”
