West Ham are facing change after releasing Slaven Bilic from his managerial position, following a sequence of events that saw the Hammers slip into the relegation zone over the course of the weekend.

Bilic’s side lost 4-1 to Liverpool on Saturday and Everton’s dramatic win over Watford yesterday compiled the misery upon the East London side, who slipped to third-bottom as a result and sit one point from safety.

A crucial run of fixtures is on the horizon after the international break as West Ham tackle Watford, Leicester City and Everton before the end of November, three matches they’ll need results from as the Hammers then face Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in the early weeks of December.

Whilst fans may not find the prospect of former Sunderland manager David Moyes coming into the London Stadium, ex-Everton defender Phil Neville has told BBC Radio 5 Live that he’d be the ‘perfect’ appointment.

“I’ve not spoken to him in a few months. I hope he gets the opportunity to get the job. I watched the West Ham game. I think Slaven is under massive pressure. It looks like someone that’s under pressure stood on the touchline that probably needs relieving of the pressure.”

“West Ham look like they need a change and David Moyes is perfect. People, I think, are disrespectful because of a couple of bad experiences he’s had. He’s still a fantastic coach, and I won’t let anyone else tell me otherwise and he would do a fantastic job at West Ham.”

Neville himself has been linked with the assistant manager position at West Ham but he stated he knows nothing of the reports.

“Honestly, I went out for my run this morning and I had about 30 missed calls and messages off people saying I was West Ham’s assistant manager. I’ve heard nothing. I’m loving everything I’m doing at the moment. Eventually I want to be a manager, a number one, so ultimately I have got nothing to say in terms of I’ve heard nothing.”
