West Ham are struggling to find their feet this season and occupy a spot in the Premier League’s relegation zone as a result, with the Hammers yet to taste victory under new boss David Moyes.

Pressure on the East London side continues to rise and could boil over in the coming weeks, as the Hammers face an incredibly difficult run of fixtures- tackling Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Questions have been raised as to whether West Ham’s squad has the ability to climb out of the drop-zone, with questionable performances from an array of big-name players at the London Stadium.

Joe Hart, on-loan from Manchester City, has failed to impress fully and faces a battle to secure a first-choice spot for England at next summer’s World Cup, where he faces competition from Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Stoke City’s Jack Butland for his spot.

However, former England stopper David Seaman believes the 30-year-old should be the starter for Gareth Southgate’s squad in Russia next year, making his case when speaking to Omnisport.

“Joe is by far England’s number one, the others are getting closer there’s no doubt about that. It was great to see Jordan Pickford play a great game against Germany [in a friendly this month] but then it was nice to see Joe play against Brazil and make some match-winning saves.”

Joe’s played at a higher level for a long time and people disrespect that or disregard him too easily for me. It’s a big step playing in the Champions League, then playing international friendlies, then European [Championships] or World Cups.”

“They’re all little steps where the pressure gets hiked just a little bit more and it can be hard to deal with. You ask Scott Carson what it feels like to be thrust in with no experience whatsoever, it nearly destroyed him, so you have to be careful. But for me, Joe is the number one.”
